The home sits on a one-acre mango farm, hugging the coast, embracing the trees and the sea breeze, offering a space that feels both grounded and transcendent. The home was conceived as a sanctuary, not just physically, but emotionally. The clients wanted a space for slowing down, relaxing, rejuvenating, seeking calm. The inspiration drew from Mediterranean-Spanish architecture, with soft arches, textured finishes, and natural materials — yet interpreted through a Southern Californian ease. Think: barefoot luxury, slow mornings, light that dances on plaster walls.

This residence is designed as a contemporary tropical home that balances openness with intimacy. The double-height foyer, anchored by a sculptural staircase and Hand-woven pendant lights, creates a warm and inviting entry experience. Natural textures, earthy finishes, and curated furniture pieces infuse the space with a modern yet organic character.

At the heart of the home lies a serene courtyard, designed as both a visual and social nucleus. The central tree, framed by arched corridors and black-framed glass openings, connects the indoors with nature, allowing light and breeze to filter through effortlessly. Minimal furnishings and a restrained material palette highlight the architecture, while the interplay of stone, plaster, and greenery ensures a timeless and calming atmosphere.

Open-plan living frames calming views of the mango orchard. The veranda wrapping the living room, provides deep overhang that moderate light and heat, help in achieving passive cooling. The overall design merges tropical modern sensibilities with understated luxury - creating a home that feels grounded, airy, and deeply connected to its natural surroundings. The palette is grounded in natural, tactile materials such as local stone, reclaimed wood, lime plaster, Spanish porcelain tiles, chalky white and pale taupe plaster walls. Nothing is glossy or sealed, helping us achieve a lived-in feel, the moment you step in.

During the entire process, not a single mango tree was removed. Instead, the villa curves gently around the orchard—as if it had organically sprouted, not been imposed. It doesn't simply sit; it lives with the land. This villa is a poetic intersection of Mediterranean warmth and coastal nuance, a residence that prioritizes presence over polish, stillness over spectacle. It deftly negotiates light and shade, architecture and nature, restraint and openness—inviting you to slow down, breathe, and belong.
